Local H Cuts Track For Pixies Tribute, Plans Tour With Fuel Jan 13-99

After dressing up as "Father Time" and the "New Year's Baby" at a pair of Chicago shows that rang in 1999, Local H's Scott Lucas and Joe Daniels kicked off the year by heading straight into a studio to record the group's contribution to the upcoming Pixies tribute album.

Local H is cutting its cover of the Pixies "Tame" at a studio in the band's Zion, Illinois hometown along with local guitarist Jeff Murphy. Local H joins such artists as Weezer, Nada Surf and Reel Big Fish on the tribute album (see "Weezer, Superdrag, Nada Surf For Pixies Tribute"), which is now tentatively set for release on May 18. Lucas and Daniels plan to keep a relatively low profile for the rest of Januarys, although Lucas will head to Denver next week to perform a mini-set at the Acoustic After-Burner concert being held as part of this year's ESPN-sponsored X-Games. Local H is also getting ready to release "All Right (Oh Yeah)" as the second single from its new album, "Pack Up the Cats," and will head out on the road with Fuel on February 6.
