Billboard Bits: Local H, Solomon Burke, VH1/Vogue Awards

How much would you pay to see rock act Local H in your home? Fans can answer that question through online auction site eBay.com, where the band is taking bids for a live performance to be held more or less anywhere the winning bidder wants the band to play (subject to certain terms and conditions posted with the auction and available by E-mailing info@smgmusic.com). Bidding, which will run through July 26, began at $500, enough to cover the band's expenses; at deadline it had reached $6,000 from 64 bids. Released in March, Local H's latest album, "Here Comes the Zoo" (Palm), debuted at No. 13 on Billboard's Top Internet Albums chart. The band is on tour, and performs tonight (July 18) in Billings, Mon., opening for Nickelback. For more on the band's current dates, visit the official Local H Web site.
