Local H On The Auction Block

july 2002

Alt rockers Local H are offering fans a chance at the ultimate rock ‘n' roll experience - a private concert with the band. In a novel move, the group is auctioning off a concert through eBay, beginning July 17 and running through July 26. Bidding was at a $500 minimum and at press time, was already more than $3,800 on the first day of the auction. The winner will get a custom-made concert, tailored to their wishes. Date, time, location and guest list are all subject to the winner's decision, which means the concert could take place in a backyard, bedroom, school, or local concert hall.

Tickets may be sold to the event and, should the winner's location choice not prove adequate space for a plugged-in set, Local H will adapt and perform acoustic. The winner shouldn't panic over how they're going to arrange the event; Local H and their people are there to lend a helping hand with the details.

Fine print for the auction stresses that it is open to fans only, with the band and their representatives reserving the right to perform background checks in order to determine that the winner has absolutely no professional affiliations with the music industry. Local H were out on the road earlier this year supporting their newest release, Here Comes The Zoo, and have recently joined up to support Nickelback for a few shows in July.
